As we gear up for the 2024-2025 school year, I'm eagerly anticipating the start of my 23rd year at ACTC as the Business and Marketing Instructor. With a background in both business and education, I'm dedicated to offering a fresh and insightful perspective in our classroom.

 

I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees in business from Clemson University, completing my studies in 1992 and 1994, respectively. My journey in education continued as I pursued a master's degree in education from Furman University in 2009. Most recently, in May 2023, I attained my Master of Science in Instructional Design and Learning Technology from Anderson University. 

 

In my classes, I prioritize hands-on experiences to engage and inspire students while honing their business and marketing skills. Through engaging in project-based learning, we focus on building both the hard and soft skills needed for success in both college and the professional world. Students actively participate in simulations, presentations, performance tasks, and collaborative projects to showcase their progress and skills.

 

I firmly believe in granting students autonomy and ownership of their educational journey. Thus, I encourage their voice and choice in project work, fostering a sense of empowerment and investment in their learning. In lieu of traditional assessments, I emphasize the creation of portfolios and authentic projects, offering a comprehensive reflection of each student's growth and achievements.
