Do you have what it takes to start a new business? Do you have an idea for a business but need the tools to get started? In this project-based course, you will learn the basics needed to plan and launch your own business. The course will walk you through the steps of setting up a business, including developing a business plan, mission and vision, attracting investors, and marketing your company. You’ll gain an understanding of the stages involved in entrepreneurship, including identifying opportunities, planning, developing strategies, and making sales. You’ll also develop financial skills, such as budgeting, financing, costs, pricing, accounting, bookkeeping, taxes, and financial reporting. You’ll develop skills in communication, management, and leadership that will prepare you for college and career success.
This senior-level class meets every afternoon during the first quarter. One unit of college prep elective credit is awarded after successful completion of the course.
