Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training  

This course is designed to provide information on the aging process, the physical care skills and psychological care skills of the geriatric clients, and the role of the nurse aide.   
 
Students are prepared to perform nursing related services to patients and residents in hospitals or long term care facilities, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, to assure student's eligibility for South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services nurse aide certification, both school based and long term care facility training must be provided.   
 

 

Patient Care Technician (PCT) Training  

A Patient Care Technician's roles include assisting in examination and treatment of patients, measuring vital signs and monitoring health, collecting samples, recording information on patients' charts, and preparing treatment rooms for examination. Job prospects for Patient Care Technicians are very good. Because health care is changing at an unprecedented pace, new or varied approaches to patient care are emerging. One such approach is the use of multi-skilled individuals known as patient care technicians who are a part of the health care team. As a patient care technician, your duties may include giving EKGs, taking vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse and temperature, acting as a phlebotomist, and assisting with medications under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Patient care technician is a multi-skilled field where you will find possibilities for growth and advancement.
