Welcome to Agricultural Sciences
Greetings! I am Trey Harris, and I am from the small town of Walhalla, SC. I grew up on a family-owned beef cattle operation, with the occasional hogs, chickens or goats roaming around. I received my bachelors degree from Clemson University and began teaching in Effingham County, Georgia from 2012-2015. I was able to move closer to home as I accepted the position as Ag Director for Stephens County from 2015-2017. In this capacity, I served primarily in a role that focused on adult education. My passion has always been with young people and providing motivation for their future endeavors, which led me to Franklin County from 2017 to 2023. During my time at Franklin, I was able to help build and grow their show program and participation. This even developed into a multi-million dollar show complex for students to work with and house SAE projects. During my time at Franklin County, I was able to obtain my Master's degree and Specialist from Murray State University.
On a personal note, during this time I married my wife Miranda in May 2020, and we have 2 fur babies that I often bring to work with me. (Sully and Kharma - Australian Shepherds). I was welcomed into the ACTC family in 2023, and I look forward to building this program and working with the wonderful students of Anderson County.
Additionally, I have partnered with Mr. Joey McCannon from Palmetto High School to re-open the adult education component here in Williamston. At one time, the Williamston Adult Ag Ed program was recognized for being the top program in the country (2007) and it is our hope to reclaim this title. Our meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6pm here at the Conference Center at ACTC. (No meetings in June or July) I look forward to building a relationship with the community of Anderson County.
