Cooperative Education
Learn While You Earn
Cooperative Education (Co-Op) is a paid work-based learning opportunity in which students combine classroom instruction and work experience related to their chosen occupational program.
Co-Op opportunities involve senior-level students enrolled in courses at the Career and Technology Center. Students in a co-op program receive credit for their Career Center course while alternating school and work. A co-op experience usually lasts a semester to a full year.
Cooperative Education gives employers the unique opportunity to make an investment in the workforce of the future. In "cooperation" with the student, parent, and school, the employer can actively participate in the training of potential employees. Over 100 students participated in Co-Op during the 2023-2024 school year.
