Welcome to PLTW Engineering
My name is Travis Guthrie and I will be teaching Introduction to Engineering Design (9th Grade) and Principles of Engineering (11th Grade) through Project Lead the Way here at ACTC. I am blessed and privileged to be beginning my eighth year of teaching in public education. I have spent the past seven years as the Gateway to Technology Teacher at Palmetto Middle School. I am excited to begin this new adventure here at ACTC as a PLTW Engineering Instructor!
I have lived in this area for my entire life and I graduated from Palmetto High School in 2004. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Lander University in 2008. I decided to return to school and pursue my true calling in life in 2011. I graduated in May of 2014 from Anderson University with a Master's of Arts Degree in Education. I have a passion for STEM, specifically robotics, that I enjoy sharing with my students!
I have been married to the love of my life, Ashley, for thirteen years. We have twin boys, Brady and Brody along with a couple of fur babies. When I am outside of school, I enjoy exercising, watching most sports, and spending time with my family. In the fall, I enjoy watching Gamecocks football. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I am very excited about the upcoming school year!
