My name is Bryan Bacher. I have a graduate degree in pure math and I have been teaching since 1994. I became a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Master Teacher in 2001, for the Digital Electronics (DE) curriculum. As a MT, I am responsible for training instructors to be DE teachers in their own schools. I am also responsible for mentoring these teachers as they become more experienced from year to year.
At ACTC, I am a robotics mentor for our VEX teams. I teach DE, Intro to Engineering Design (IED), Computer Science Principles (CSP), Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM), Civil Engineering and Architecture (CEA), and a microprocessor machine control course (AMT102). Please feel free to stop by, as guests are always welcome in my classes. Students learn topics by a combination of lecture and hands-on projects. The majority of learning is from hands-on instruction with follow-up discussions. Some of the goals are that students will get excited about careers in engineering and technology, their learning of material in core courses (math and science) will be enhanced by learning real-world applications, and they will receive experience and credit that they can use as they pursue their college education and career choices. The courses are rigorous and fast paced, but also a lot of fun.
Outside of school, my hobbies are many. I enjoy spending time with my kids, I am an avid PC gamer, and I play bass guitar. I am also involved in RC aircraft and I am a member of the Civil Air Patrol.
