My name is Carolyn Olver and I am a Registered Nurse. I am a 1991 graduate of Community Medical Center School of Nursing located in Scranton, PA. I began my nursing career as an ENT specialist office nurse, and then I transferred into the hospital setting and worked as a Labor & Delivery/Newborn Nursery Nurse. I became very interested in Community Health, which lead me to my position as a Home Health Nurse.
In 1996 my family moved to South Carolina. I worked for the Greenville Hospital System in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics as a Patient Care Coordinator and an office nurse for 9 years. I realized I loved to educate families about their special needs children so I became a school nurse.I truly enjoy the students and wanted to educate our future health care worker’s, so in 2006 I accepted a position at ACTC for a Health Science and Biomedical Science Instructor.
I have thoroughly enjoyed each year so far and I look forward to past graduates coming back to visit and hear how beneficial our program has been to them in their post education. It is truly a blessing to have the opportunity to educate our future health care workers and to see their success!!! Outside of work I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family and dogs. I also enjoy being active and play competitive tennis.
